Chapter 2: Saving Taiyo

The next morning, Madilyn woke up early again, and was super shocked! She couldn’t believe her eyes. It was 4:00 in the morning. Madilyn checked under Taiyo’s, her’s, and Matthew’s bed. But there was no sign of Taiyo. She checked every where before waking up Matthew, inside the chest, at the garden they all plant, in the lake, no sign of Taiyo. But she noticed one thing, there were only two minecarts, not three. She raced back inside the house, and shook Matthew to wake up.

“Matthew, oh wake up Matthew! Its an emergency!” shouted Madilyn.

But he was going to sleep in for the day. So, she threw him on the floor.

“Oww!” cried Matthew. “What the hell was that for? Its 4:00 in the morning! Go back to bed…”

“No! Taiyo’s gone, and I checked everywhere,” said Madilyn.

Everywhere?” said Matthew.

“Oh you know what I mean. I checked the whole area,” said Madilyn still shaking him. “And one of the minecarts aren’t there.”

“Okay. I’m up now,” said Matthew half eyed open. “So what are we waiting for? We gotta save him!”

“That’s exactly why I woke you up god damn it,” shouted Madilyn.

So that’s what they did. They went outside on the damp grass and they both got into the minecarts. It was iron, made out of steel, the wheels were all scratched up, and there was one wooden dark brown seat in the minecart. They drove forward and on the way, the temperature got colder and colder. This meant their voice started to change.

“Brrr… I should’ve worn sweatshirt. It’s getting cold,” shivered Matthew.

Madilyn just ignored him.

“SPIDERS!” yelled Madilyn. “They are following us and they are so quick!”

Matthew was behind Madilyn so he took out his bow and arrows.

“Don’t worry! I’ll use my special trick,” he said.

This is because he was moving on a minecart. But, before he started to fire, five other arrows went flying right next to his head and killed all the spiders!

Once that happened, they went over the bump Taiyo tripped over the other night! But, the problem is Taiyo wasn’t there. The witch found him and brang him to a secret place lead by a path of oak wood. All was left was a broken minecart.

“Uh oh… we’re gonna die Madilyn,” said Matthew sadly.

“Oh don’t say that,” said Madilyn.

But it was kind of true. This might be their end.

“Where’d that come from?” asked Madilyn. “Oh! My voice has changed! Awesome!”

“That doesn’t matter right now!” yelled Matthew over the falling snow. We need to find out who fired the arrows, how they took my trick, and why there is a minecart without Taiyo!” said Matthew.

“Okay okay!” Madilyn responded.

So they replaced their minecarts and Madilyn got in. But before Matthew got in, he gathered three iron ingots which were the leftovers of the minecart Taiyo has used. The other two were no use anymore. Then, Matthew got into his minecart and they continued. When they got to the hut, they saw a sign:

                     FOLLOW THE OAK WOOD PATH.

“Uhh…” wondered Madilyn.

“C’mon!” said Matthew.

They went on going deeper and deeper into the ground. It got darker so Madilyn took out her torch and Matthew took out his archery equipment in case there were any mobs until they bumped into a creeper! It started sizzling.

“Oh no,” Matthew said worriedly.

KABOOM! And then Matthew and Madilyn fell all the way down to an almost bottomless pit.

“Aah!” cried Matthew and Madilyn.

“Take my hand so we don’t lose each other!” yelled Matthew.

After about twenty-five seconds, they landed in a pool of water that seemed to appear it was full of mud..

“Ugh! Bloody disgusting mud! Where are we anyway?” asked Matthew.

“I have no idea,” Madilyn responded,“Well we should continue. This is probably the way to finding Taiyo.”

“Right,” said Matthew.

When they kept walking, the ally way got deeper and deeper. They were walking from stone blocks changing to gravel but they didn’t walk on gravel because it may be a trap.

“Matthew do you think this is a trap?” asked Madilyn.

“I suppose so,” said Matthew. “I’ll place a block on top of it to see if the gravel drops.”

“Ok, great idea!” said Madilyn.

He placed the block on the gravel and all the gravel actually dropped! This was definitely a trap. At the bottom Matthew and Madilyn saw a lava pit. If they walked on the gravel, that’s what would’ve happened to them; die.

“Woah!” Madilyn said. “Matthew you are very clever!”

“Thanks,” said Matthew. “I’ll make a bridge across this so we can walk across.” While he was doing this, Madilyn walked onto the edge of the bridge and now she ended up hanging on the bridge!

“HELP!!!” cried Madilyn.

“Don’t worry! I got you!” shouted Matthew. He threw his hands on the hand Madilyn was hanging onto.

“Madilyn I will never let you die in front of me like this!” Matthew said sobbing.

“I’m sorry, I’m going to have to let go,” Madilyn said softly.

“NO!” shouted Matthew. “I am not giving up! We’re all friends and if me and Taiyo lost you, we would be depressed for the rest of our lives!” “And you don’t want us to have that life, do you?”

“No,” said Madilyn while Matthew was pulling her up.

“Okay. Let’s continue,” said Matthew.

When they crossed the bridge, they saw a chest with an enchantment table and a sign as a riddle.

“Wow a chest!” Matthew said surprised.

“Don’t open it yet! It might be another trap, said Madilyn.

“Oh right,” said Matthew. “

But there’s a riddle, I’ll read it,” said Madilyn.

THERE IS NO TRAP, BUT WITH LAPIS, YOU MAY ENCHANT A SWORD TO FIND YOUR WAY THROUGH A LETTER PATH AND KEEP THE PAINT.

“A letter path?” wondered Matthew.

“Let’s find out that later,” I’ll enchant my sword first, said Madilyn. She opened the chest and nothing happened to her. She took out this other diamond sword and a couple of lapis.

“Here Matthew! A sword from the chest,” said Madilyn.

“Wait, how come the sword I’m holding is so light?” wondered Madilyn.

“Yeah, and mine is so heavy like the actual real one,” said Matthew. “Look Madilyn! Blue paint is coming off of your’s!”

“It’s a wooden sword?!” Madilyn said angrily while feeling the texture of it. “I’ll leave the paint because it says it on the riddle.”

“Ok,” said Matthew.

Madilyn enchanted the fake diamond sword (FDS) and when she placed it as knockback, it started glowing purple.

“Wow! It’s so pretty,” said Madilyn.

“Indeed,” said Matthew. “What now- oh look there are ten letters on this! This may lead us to the letter path! All right. Let’s save Taiyo,” said Matthew.

“I’ll go in front so you tell me which letter to step on,” said Madilyn. “Ok. E, J, M, U, H, Q,” said Matthew. While he was saying this, he was one letter behind Madilyn. “R, T, Y, and F.” cried Matthew. “Hurray!” shouted Matthew.

Once Madilyn got across the pebble path, they saw a hallway and saw a witch trying to put fire on the huge ice cube so Taiyo can melt out of it.

“Taiyo!” yelled Madilyn running across the hallway.

“Wait! It might be a trap!” Matthew said.

And there were traps. They saw tripwires, pistons, dispensers, and gravel. Then, Madilyn jumped over the tripwires and pistons, slid on the ground so she doesn’t get hit by the dispensers, and made a bridge across the gravel and she reached her destination.

“Thanks Madilyn! Now I just need to jump over the tripwires and pistons,” said Matthew.

The pistons were meant to push minecrafters into lava. The pistons moved back into place for like five seconds.

“All right Madilyn. I don’t know if this is a great idea but I’m gonna be a savage; run so fast across.”

Right when the pistons got into place, Matthew ran and parkoured across without even hesitating. It was like he was in a dream and skipping for fun. While he was running, the pistons were pushing right behind him. The last one almost hit him so he threw himself across. Once he got through all the pistons, he saw the tripwires camouflaging with the stone. If he stepped on one of the tripwires, the whole stone ground will open up and he would fall into a pool of lava which wouldn’t go so well. There was one stone between two tripwires so he didn’t have a lot of space to land on.

“Phew. Ok. I got this. I will do anything to save or protect my friends,” Matthew said to himself.

He first jumped and went forward, jumped and went forward, and on and on until he reached where Madilyn was. But, if one last minecrafter made it to the end, all the tripwires will still fall and the stone ground will fall. Why would this happen? I don’t know. I guess that’s the way traps work.

“You made it Matthew! All right. Now let’s continue,” said Madilyn.

“Okay,” Matthew responded laying on the ground breathing hard. “I just need to rest for a little while. I’m outta energy.”

“Sure,” said Madilyn. “It’s actually good that the ground fell.”

“Why?” asked Matthew.

“Because then we don’t need to keep jumping over the stupid tripwires  and we can just build a bridge across it. This way, we don’t need to keep jumping, I mean, which would you rather do, build a bridge or jump over so many tripwires?”

“Good point. Yeah I would rather build a bridge,” Matthew said getting up. “Okay let’s go.”

They walked across and saw Taiyo stuck in a huge ice cube like the one Herobrine was in. On the left side, they saw a witch trying to melt away the ice by putting a fireplace next to it and splashing it with a bucket of boiling water.

“Taiyo!” shouted Matthew and Madilyn running to him.

“Wait stay back!” said the witch running to where the ice cube was so she can block it.

“Who are you?! That’s our friend stay back!” shouted Matthew pulling out his diamond sword facing it at the witch’s heart.

“Wait Matthew! She might come in handy!” Madilyn said pulling Matthew back.

“Who are you?” asked Matthew to the witch angrily.

“My name is Witch. The ser-servant of Her-Herobrine, and Captain Archery is in gr-grave danger!
